Nicéphore Niépce was a french inventor, and was one of the first inventors of photography. Nicéphore Niépce also invented the pyreolophore, which is the worlds first internal combustion engine, and was used to propel boats. Niépce's invention of the pyreolophore was not made alone, his older brother, Claude, helped create the invention. Niépce is most known for creating the worlds first known photograph in 1825, which is named, View from the Window at Le Gras. This picture was the worlds first successful permanent photograph. The image captures the roof and the surroundings of Niépce's home. To make the exposure for this photo, it took an overall time of 8 hours.
